About Us
Roy Champiomont has been in the molding and casting business for 40 years. His shop near the private airport off Hwy 6 initially produced custom cultured marble counter tops and fixtures for Harris County builders.
During the 1980's, Roy became interested in the life impressioning process. Soon he was taking life casts, often from sports celebrities. His private collections of hands are thoughtfully posed, and frozen in youth.
During the mid 90's Roy met Texas western and wildlife sculptor Don MacGregor, and a collaboration ensued which lasted until MacGregor's death in 1994. MacGregor willed his entire life body of work---sculptures, molds, maquettes (models of planned large sculptures), everything, to Roy.
Ten years after, Mr. Champiomont had a decision that it was time to do an homage to Don's life work, and take steps to complete unfinished MacGregor works, and resurrect the collection in bronze. A retrospective display using MacGregor's original waxes and clays is planned, which will show the evolution of a scupltor's art over the period of time in which he worked. This will be availabel for loan display in area banks, museums, and educational campuses.
